  • How do you work this thing again?

Wow. I haven't seen this page in a long time. I guess it was time for me to revisit my Xanga home. This was pretty much where it all started. Facebook wasn't even on our minds. Haha. Ummm.....I'm not used to this blogging thing anymore. I'm in college now! That's pretty weird. It's ok. It's hard. I'm in the Honors College, which is a completely different setting than the main campus. I still take some normal classes on the main campus, but I take my gen ed classes with the HC. The classes are capped at about 15, and it's a really comfortable setting. There's no test, but in place of the tests we have papers. And during the classes we discuss the material we have. It's a pretty cool setting, but it's definitely a lot of work. I live on campus. I have suitemates, but my own room, which is nice. That's basically the only reason I'm living here. No bunk beds for me, thanks.

Wow, I used to be able to make quite the long entry, but I'm a little rusty. Maybe if I keep this up I'll get better again. We'll see.

I just saw that my last post was three days away from a year ago. Man.

  • Finally, semester 2 has begun! I'm now taking Health and Eng. 4. Health has a lot of annoying Freshman. I guess I'll deal. It's nice to have a really easy class.

So today at school I had to give the announcements over the P.A. system. Not cool. It's part of the Journalism 2 job, we make the paper and do the announcements. Mrs. Brave gave me the announcements she had, I typed them up with everything I needed to say and how to say it, so I would only have one sheet of paper to read. Well, I walked into the office later that day and the secretary handed me about 6 sheets of paper with all these other announcements written on them in handwriting I couldn't read. I had about 2.5 seconds to look them over and organize them before I had to read them to 2,400 people. Needless to say, it wasn't exactly smooth sailing. Luckily I'm the quiet kid who nobody knows.

In other news: I got into the Pierre Laclede Honors College at UMSL! I had an interview for it last week, which I wasn't sure how well it went. Apparently better than I thought. All members of the college get a merit scholarship, plus an additional amount if you live in the dorms there. That helps a lot. At the Honors College I will be taking one extra course a semester besides my major requirements. Only in the honors college, the class sizes are 12-15 people and there aren't any written tests. Your grades are determined by your discussion and presentations. So it will be nice to have the typical university setting, along with a small college setting. I can't wait for college.

    Have a great Friday!

  • Back from Florida!!!!!!! Ok, so I've been back for a while but I haven't had much time for posting. I loved it. My first time in Disney World was great! Although I need to come back sometime with more like a week to spend there. There just wasn't enough time for everything. It was also my first time going on any sort of roller coaster outside of Six Flags St. Louis. I love roller coasters. Busch Gardens was fun. I went on Sheikra twice, which has what looks like a 90 degree angled drop, and they bring you over the edge and hang you there for about 5 seconds before you drop. Pretty cool. There was some really stupid and unnecessary drama(even more ridiculous than the bus fiasco), but I didn't let it ruin my trip. I'm in the process of scrapbooking my trip, and I stopped by Xanga while printing some pictures. Here are some of them:
